Case Study: Lenadoon Ave

Lenadoon Ave

Belfast

One of Northern Irelands leading construction companies QMAC Construction Ltd contacted Dibsa for a Flat to Pitch roof conversion on a block of flats that they were tendering for.

The existing flat roof at Lenadoon Avenue had deteriorated over time and their client was looking for a long term solution to water ingress. With QMACs stellar reputation for undertaking high specification and complex project this flat to pitch solution would be a breeze for them.

The Dibsa Flat to Pitch Process

Travelling over to Belfast to carry out a detailed survey in order to obtain not only dimensions but any critical details that may influence the design of the flat to pitch structure. There were things such as chimneys, flues and roof lights that needed to be considered. Upon return back at our office the information was passed to our Draughtsman for him to commence designing a suitable cost effective solution for QMAC.

Once our solution had been approved by QMAC and the Architect involved our Structural Engineer produced a set of site specific calculations. Our call off sheets were then submitted to our production department based here in Dodworth, Barnsley, and manufacture of the components commenced.

Once all our steel structure and components were packed including laminated drawings, installation guides and our guide to fixing, the project was loaded on to the waggon and delivered over to Belfast.

Following our drawings and using our installation guides, QMACs excellent team of installers made light work of putting up our Flat to Pitch structure and the results look outstanding. A remarkable change for the old tired flat roof we saw on our original visit.
